Protect Our Environment

DSC_1471Mary’s message today is to protect our environment. Don’t pollute our oceans or throw things away. The garbage in our own city that people just lazily toss into our fields and the sides of our highways obviously thrown from a car. You are hurting Mother Nature with trash. Scott and I both raised our children to never throw things away like that. We are always are shocked in this day and age to see the mess that is out there and these children were not raised differently. Don’t forget to reuse, reduce and recycle whenever possible. Make sure you raise your children that way. If you see some trash pick it up and recycle  or compost  it if you can.  We are made from Mother Nature so we are all hurting ourselves when you don’t take care of her.

Respect Others

DSC_3736

Today’s message from Mary is to respect others. Scott and I have a great example of this. Just this past week we were at our favourite beach just about to walk barefoot and ground with Mother Earth. Scott and I both witnessed somebody with their dog who had let it do its business. The owner quickly covered it with sand. No picking it up. This was not a remote beach but a very crowed one filled with babies, children and adults all the time. And it was not where the tide would for sure clean it up. What if someone including us walked on it or a baby crawled on it. I couldn’t believe he was just going to leave t. So I rushed over and told him I saw him do it. He said he was going to get it later. I really didn’t believe him. I should have stood there until he did. But Scott said let it go and let’s enjoy our walk. We will never know if he really came back later to clean it up. He certainly did not mark it with stones and it was growing darker. How disrespectfully he was. He was young but that is no excuse. Scott being a dog owner in the past said sometimes you forget to bring a bag but you ask another dog owner for a bag. I would have dug through by purse for tissue and then threw it in the garbage. I just would never be that rude and disrespectful to people. And even when we walked back we had to walk barefoot in the area were we both knew it was. And Mary’s message today is pretty simple  please be respectful to each other.

Protect Our Environment

DSC_9008Today’s message from Mary is to protect the environment. We are made from Mother Nature so when we hurt her we are really only hurting ourselves. Mother Nature is a powerful force and she can heal us and raises our vibration so why wouldn’t we protect her like one of our children. Do your part.  Don’t throw things away– reduce, reuse and recycle. Make sure you teach your children this too.

If You Still Have Snow Please Feed The Birds

DSC_6379This is a short message tonight from Mary mainly for the people with snow still covering the ground. Mary wants you to go outside and feed the birds who cannot get their spring food source. Robins cannot dig for worms if the ground is still covered with snow and other birds cannot get their grubs and berries easily.   After a hard winter they are extra hungry. Scott and I were out tonight putting birdseed and raisins down wherever we could find a bare spot of grass that had melted snow. Also we put the food onto the park benches and anything with concrete. My sister gets day old bread and peanut butter and makes sandwiches for the birds and wildlife. She also makes suet. There are lots of recipes online.  Tomorrow Scott will be shoveling a small patch of my backyard to clear it of snow so the robins can dig for worms. It is only a temporary situation caused by the extra  late snow fall we have had in some areas.  Mary wants us all to do what we can to help and thanks you in advance.

Watch What We Consume

DSC_1337A while back we were just finishing a nature walk in a city park when we noticed a family waiting with a couple of helium balloons about to be launched into the sky.  We were shocked that anyone in this day would actually use those horrible things knowing they end up polluting the ocean and choking the wildlife that live there. So of course we confronted them as they were doing it. They had smaller children with them so we did it as very peacefully.  Turns out they were celebrating the loss of a loved one. We told them we were so so sorry for their loss but what they were doing was wrong.  The man said it was only a seagull.  I didn’t think of it then but I should have said how does your loss make it ok to create another loss– a duck or seagull. Hopefully next year they will find a different way to commemorate their loss. Mary’s message today is to protect Mother Earth by reducing the things we throw away.  Watch what we consume. So I thought of this story.

Heal Our Waters

DSC_3333

What are you putting into our waters? Mary’s  message today is asking you to think about what chemicals and wastes you are putting into our oceans, lakes and streams.  Mother Nature has become a dumping ground for toxic chemicals, garbage and untreated waste.  This is going to affect us all.  We are part of mother nature living on this planet we call earth. The Native  people know this and have always protected her.  So don’t kid yourself you are affecting us all by polluting our waters.  Stop polluting our ocean, lakes and streams and we will heal our earth together.

Keep Nature Natural

Believe it or not an ATV just drove behind me

Believe it or not an ATV just drove behind me

Ahhh…it’s big time fall in our neck of the woods right now. The leaves are changing and beginning to fall off of the trees.  You can smell fall in the air.  It’s apple picking time. It’s corn maze time.  The air temperature is great.

It’s that time of year when you know you only have a small window of opportunity to get out there and really enjoy the colours, the sounds, the smell of fall…so why would you want to ruin something like that?

Last weekend C and I went out to take it all in…we were not alone…there were other folks out enjoying nature as it was meant to be enjoyed…but there were also folks who had no problem ruining it for others, or even for themselves.

We noticed some people were not completely connecting with the experience by constantly checking their cell phones…or by wearing earbuds and listening to their ipod, or some other type of device.

There were people who decided that nature was great place to throw away a plastic bottle, wrapper, coffee cup, or drink can (or the one that got me the most was when people were kind enough to clean up after their dog, but then threw the bag into the woods). We noticed young children stomping on beautiful vegetation while their parents were ignoring them.  We noticed smokers (this is one I really don’t get…you’re out in nature breathing fresh air and what do you do…you decide to light up…it makes no sense to me).

And the big one that we ran into twice…while out embracing nature…while trying to connect to mother earth…at two separate locations we discovered people tearing up nature and polluting the fresh air driving all-terrain vehicles through or close to public walking trails.

…this week Mary wanted to remind us…if we want to connect with nature…connect with nature…leave the toys, devices, and litter at home.

…and this is according to Mary!
